We work with a curated group of artists and rights holders to pursue sync opportunities across film, television, advertising, and video games.
Sync licensing is the process of granting permission to use music in timed relation (or "in synchronization") with visual media.
For independent artists, sync can be one of the most valuable ways to extend the life of a catalog beyond streaming alone.
At Symphonic, we take a selective approach and focus on artists whose music is easy to license and aligned with current opportunities.
We focus on building a high-quality, sync-ready catalog and pursuing opportunities where there's a strong creative fit. Our team pitches daily to a huge network of music supervisors, advertising agencies and independent licensing pros to get your music placed.
We work with a carefully selected roster of artists, labels, and producers. Music is chosen based on quality, originality, simplicity of rights and sync potential.
Our catalog is built for licensing, with properly organized metadata and rights considerations to support efficient deal-making when opportunities arise.
Our team pitches music to film, TV, advertising, and media projects when there is a strong creative and strategic fit.
When interest comes in, we help manage negotiations, approvals, licensing, invoicing and collection for all placements.
Our sync licensing service is built for artists who want more than generic exposure. We focus on finding the right opportunities, managing the details, and helping rights holders move quickly when interest comes in.
Music from our network has been placed across television, film, advertising, and gaming - giving artists new exposure and new revenue opportunities.
No. Sync placements depend on many factors including creative fit, timing, and project requirements There are unfortunately no certainties.
No. We review submissions carefully and only onboard music that aligns with current opportunities.
Yes. Anything can be pitched for sync licensing as long as the recordings are high quality and the rights can be properly cleared. Whether or not it was released is not important, in fact unreleased music can be even more valuable than released music since it’s perpetually new!
Very few artists control 100% of their publishing and master rights, so if you have collaborators and outside rights holders it’s important to be sure that they’re willing to sign on to a rep deal so that we can represent your music on a one-stop basis. If you co-write with lots of writers signed with publishers, that might result in us not approving your application.
There is no fixed timeline, but in most cases it takes months if not years. This is not a fast process and requires quite a lot of work to produce results. Patience is a must!
